Denied entry for not following dress code, college girls protest in Jammu | KNO

Hundreds of college going girls today staged protest in this winter capital of the state when they were denied entry into the premises for allegedly not following dress code.

A group of students of Government College for Women, Parade this morning were not allowed to enter the college as they were reportedly not following the proper dress code.


“The college girls were in denims and T-shirts while some of them were also not in proper dress code as mentioned in college rules,” official sources here said. They said that as per college norms, the girls have to be in complete dress code which is white ‘salwar’, ‘kameez’ and ‘dupatta’ and only barring married girls. Meanwhile, the girls amid slogans against the college authorities staged protest and blocked the road.


Shouting ‘we want justice’, the protesting girls demanded that they should not be forced to follow the dress code and alleged that the college authorities had not allowed them to enter the premises few minutes before the scheduled time due to which they have to suffer especially the girls coming from remote areas. Police rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors.
